Incorporated in 1995 with total assets of over €3 billion, Boursorama is a French financial group belonging to the Société Générale group (its main shareholder with a 56% stake). The company has been listed since 2000.

Today, Boursorama is one Europe's leaders in online savings, with some 6.3 million orders executed and 619,780 accounts managed in 2009, and assets under management of €11.9 billion at December 31, 2009.

The Boursorama group operates in four countries: France, Spain, Germany and the UK.

In France, Boursorama is a key player in online banking and the leading distributor of online financial information. Boursorama Banque (France) combines excellent customer service with the most competitive rates. In the UK and Spain, it is one of the top three online brokers. Boursorama also operates in Germany through a 92.9% stake in OnVista AG and its OnVista Bank brand.

In 2008 Boursorama and “la Caixa” signed a shareholders' agreement to create an online bank in Spain leveraging Boursorama’s Self Trade Bank. In 2009, following the development of a new technology, Self Bank rolled out a new one-stop banking service, which in addition to brokerage services and savings products, offers a wide range of financial products.
