Member of the Board of Directors of Criteria CaixaCorp since July 2009.

Leopoldo Rodés Castañé holds a degree in law from the University of Barcelona and is Chairman of the Media Planning Group communication company, a position he combines with his work as a member of the Board of Directors of the Caja de Ahorros y Pensiones de Barcelona “la Caixa”, and those of Abertis, Sogecable, Havas S.A and Grupo Financiero INBURSA. He is also Vice-President of the Royal Automobile Club of Catalonia, President of the Private Foundation for Oncological Study and Research (FERO) and the Arte y Mecenazgo Foundation and member of the Board of Directors of Christie’s International Europe.

Between 1964 and 1974 he was a member of the Boards of Directors of Banco Central (Catalonia), Banco Vitalicio de España and Ferrocarriles de Catalunya. Later, from 1988 to 2004, he was Deputy Chairman of Banco Urquijo.

In 1985 he was Chairman of the COOB ’92 Committee promoting Barcelona’s candidacy for the 1992 Olympics and, once the city had been awarded the Games, he was a member of the Barcelona 92 Executive Committee. Later, he founded and was the first Chairman of the Family Business Institute (Institut de l’Empresa Familiar), where he still holds the post of Honorary Chairman.

Currently he is also Chairman of the Asepeyo mutual benefit association, of the Ramon Llull University Board of Trustees and of the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art Foundation.

He is also a member of a number of international bodies: the Chairman’s Council and the International Council of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and the National Committee of the Whitney Museum of American Art.
